Second and final set for Chobits by Banpresto for UFO plush in 2002.
And another nice picture of the set on the tag.
Chi, adorable in her work uniform. Again, lots of materials used here. Bows, ruffles, bloomers, etc. Really impressive, and very cute! SOLD
I feel like I remember some debate about this plush. Plushie being sexy? Cute? It was a toss up, and made for some odd discussion. I like to opt for cute, as Chi really is. The added bow on the undies is rather funny, though! (SOLD)
Another Sumomo, but not nearly as nice as the first unfortunately.
Yumi, looking very cute in her work outfit! I think she's really adorable in her little kimono! I feel that I got a really good luck of the draw plush, as she's got a nice face too. SOLD
Atashi bunny. Actually very well done!
Full set. Looks like one from this set are priced around $40/ea on ebay. I feel that is a bit high, perhaps $25-$30/ea would be more appropriate.
Chi in night shirt, Chi working, Atashi Bunny, Sumomo, Yumi SOLD
Ah, some of these plushies are just so well done! Released in 2002 by Banpresto, the first Chobits set consists of 4 characters: Sumomo, Chi, Freya, and Yuzuki.
One of those helpful sets that give you a good picture on the tag.
Yuzuki - her bow in the back is really nice, for this set they really mixed up the materials nicely. SOLD
Chi, very cute!! The detailing on this set is great. She's got so many little ribbons and bows. (SOLD)
Freya, also looking nicely detailed with straps and buckles. (SOLD)
Sumomo! This is probably one of my favorite plush of all time. A dynamic pose that actually works for a plush? Amazing! Several kinds of material? Yes, please! Fringe? Why not! Tiny dancing feet, adorable! I don't think there could be a more perfect plush of Sumomo. Severely cute character portrayed perfectly. She's a keeper. I've seen others, and I think perhaps I just got a really good plush as well.
For pricing, looks like $22/ea
Freya (black dress) and Chi (white dress), Sumomo, Yuzuki SOLD
I'm back from a trip to Japan! Amazing place, so sad to leave. Thanks to everyone who emailed me for being patient until I returned. :-)
Someone had e-mailed me about the Hana Yori Dango plush set from 1997, and I took pictures and am posting them here for reference. HYD holds a very very special place in my heart, and it took me a while to get this full set, it's pretty hard to find. Shizuka alone remained nearly impossible for me to get, and became a 'holy grail' for me of sorts. I finally managed to obtain her, and I will remember her very fondly.
Let's start with the heroine, shall we?
Makino Tsukushi! Actually very cute in person. She is a bit shorter than the rest of the guys, around 6"-6.5". These plush are old, and have 'loopy material' for the faces, instead of a felt. (SOLD $65)
And Makino's man, Tsukasa Domyouji. Not sure about those white shoes, though! XD Love that they left in his lower eyelashes, priceless. (SOLD $65)
Hanazawa Rui. Fair to say he's wearing a rather 'Rui' expression. I always really loved the voice they gave him in the anime <3
Akira Mimasaka. I honestly didn't know his last name until just now. I have to admit that I am still slowly collecting the HYD manga since some volumes became hard to find, I haven't read to the end yet so I only have anime knowledge and a 14 volumes of manga read. I think he becomes a bigger character along with Sojirou, but I'm not sure...? (SOLD $40)
Sojirou Nishikado, looking about as he should. (SOLD $40)
Shizuka Todou. My holy grail. So cute in her white dress, and I always thought that if I hadn't known better, I would never have been able to identify what series this plush is from. Interesting fact about the Hana Yori Dango tush tags is that they've got a little drawing of the plush on it, as well as the name of the series. It's actually quite cute! (SOLD $45)
Full cast. I really like pictures of the whole set, it's nice to see them together :-)
